Since 1970, Save the Children has been actively working with the Bangladeshi government, civil society organisations, businesses, and others to give children the opportunities they deserve- to grow up healthy, to learn, and to be safe. With 1200 dedicated staff and over 850 volunteers across the country, Save the Children responds to major emergencies, delivers innovative development programmes, and ensures children’s voices are heard through our campaigning to build a better future for and with children.

The Kolorob app was Save the Children’s first innovative digital solution to minimise this

information gap, connecting community members to reliable information on services, allowing them to compare and voice feedback on services and job opportunities through an online service directory and interactive map.

As a part-time Media Communication Consultant for the Kolorob Project, I worked closely with the Communications department and the Project Leader on their social media strategy to create awareness for the Kolorob Project. The team was a welcoming crowd both young videographers, project officers and experienced communicators.

After a couple of meetings to set the social media calendar, I was assigned the role of an illustrator for a series of comics that talk about how Kolorob can benefit our various target audiences in different situations.

I also illustrated for them 2 mascots to use for their digital and physical communication materials and campaigns. One would be a smartphone mascot while the other would be a college student who might benefit from using the app. I had with me the Kolorob Brand Guideline and creative briefs together with captions. I had the creative freedom to create the story for the comic strips based on the brief and captions.
